Subject wise Instructions:
Students are advised to follow subject wise instructions for active and effective study.
English/Urdu:
- Utilise 2 days for Reading book and 3 days for Grammar. 1 day must be assigned for Composition writing skills enhancement.
- Read at least two pages of your English and Urdu textbooks daily. Underline the difficult words and look for their meanings in dictionary. For English, meanings have to be found
in simple English, preferably. Prepare dictation words. After completing reading of the unit, practice making your own sentences of the new words learnt on loose sheets. - Students must be encouraged for story retelling in their own words in summarised pattern. It would also help for preparing the objective items from text.
- For Poem section, identify the poetic devices used by poet.
- Solve the exercises of reading book units at completion of reading of the chapter (with lead pencil).
- Grammar topics learnt must be solved on Grammar Skills and Urdu workbook respectively. The practice of the topic needs to be done on Essential Skills and from Urdu Grammar book. Definitions have to be learnt thoroughly.
- Watch course videos for the outlines of letters, stories, applications and essays.
- Rules for translation from Urdu to English must be learnt properly. It is advised to practice some extra sentences from any English Grammar and Composition book for better clarity of concepts and to prepare students for unseen translation sentences.
- Practice translation on loose sheets.
- Practice grammar concepts.
- Handwriting practice is to be done by students of at least 3 pages a week to improve their cursive writing pattern in English.
Mathematics:
- Watch course videos and practice questions.
- At least one exercise has to be practiced daily. Students are advised to learn and practice one concept a day. 2 days can be spent on one concept for better comprehension and application of the topic.
- Review exercises have to be solved separately at completion of each chapter.
- The chapters have to be prepared for objective items as well.
- Practice chapters conceptually.
Science:
- Chapter reading is to be done thoroughly. Highlight the important statements for objectives. The objective statements should be drafted on practice sheets for future reference.
- Solve all included Test Yourself questions
- New concept/ topic must be started after getting complete grip of both of the previous one.
- Workbooks have to be solved at completion of the chapter.
- Learn all Short and Long Questions with headings and subheadings.
- Practice diagrams (making and labeling) of all units on practice sheets.
Social Studies:
- Chapter reading is to be done thoroughly. Highlight the important statements for objectives. The objective statements should be drafted on practice sheets for future reference.
- Learn Short and Long Questions with headings and subheadings.
- Practice labeling of all maps included in the chapters.
- List down all the important events and their relevant dates for learning (History section).
Islamiat:
- Chapter reading is to be done thoroughly. Highlight the important statements for objectives. The objective statements should be drafted on practice sheets for future reference.
-Solve and learn exercises of all units including short and long questions.
-Learn Surah/ Ayat/ Hadith with translation.
Quran:
- Recite Quran one or two ruku a day, with correct tajweed. Makharij have to be practiced properly.
- Learn Surah’s with translation.
- Masnoon duaein with translation must be recited daily.
- Offer prayers five times a day (keeping in mind its translation for better Khushu o’Khuzu)
Computer:
- Read full chapter and mark the important statements for objective practice.
- All flow charts/ algorithms and practical examples given in chapters must be practiced.
- Solve and learn the exercises given at the end.
- Practice all practicals.
Activities:
- Do simple indoor exercises.
- Water plants and feed the birds.
- Try some creative (innovative) activities.
- Spend good time with your grandparents.
- Help your parents in day to day household chores.
- Don’t watch too much of television.
- Keep your environment and surroundings clean.
- Build and improve your vocabulary with cross words, jumbled words, etc.
- Solve riddles and puzzles.
- Adopt habit of reading good books instead of consuming time on gadgets
Note: Parental involvement is very important in the academic success of the children. They should be encouraged to seek knowledge and learn moral values for example helping people in their time of need, forgiving others’ offenses, respecting parents and elders, fulfilling promises, being kind to people and to animals, being patient in adversity, maintaining justice, being honest, and controlling one’s anger appear as major virtues in the Islamic concept of morality.
