Pakistan’s first digital summit brought together speakers from China and Pakistan and over 250 participants to speed up technology, innovation and economic development within the country.

Managing Director Whale Cloud Technology Pakistan, Junaid Shaheen said, We are committed to helping individuals, businesses and our government to develop their full potential using digital technologies and to reach value and benefits of digital lifestyle.

The Summit is predictable to produce substantial impact both for public and private sectors and glimmer major initiatives within the country. International CEO Whale Cloud, Ben Zhou said Digital Pakistan is no more a dream; it will become a reality soon.

President, Whale Cloud South East Asia, Davy Chen said with a foremost investment plans the Company would not only make a payment towards Pakistan’s economy but will also help in creating jobs.

Speakers at the digital summit were Professor Wu (Institute of Science & Technology from China), Rita Liu, Senior Analyst HIS Markit, Gary Lee (Director Innovative Business Research Ali Baba), Kevin Xu (Senior Advisor, National Smart City, China), Nasir Naqvi (Executive Director National Information Technology Board (NITB).

‘Pak-UK Education Gateway’ launched by HEC & British Council

The British Council in Pakistan and Higher Education Commission (HEC) Pakistan has recently launched a joint programme Pak-UK Education Gateway at Higher Education Commission (HEC) Secretariat in Islamabad, which aims to enhance partnership between the higher education sectors of Pakistan and the UK.

Pak-UK Education Gateway key areas of collaboration under this umbrella framework are: innovative and collaborative research, higher education leadership, quality assurance and standard setting, distance learning, international mobility and transnational education.

Pak-UK Education Gateway builds on existing collaborations between the UK and Pakistan that the British Council and Higher Education Commission has facilitated over last fifteen years from knowledge exchange and leadership development programmes, to student and teacher training, scholarships and research collaborations.

This programme will support the ambitions set by the HEC in Vision 2025, the document charting out targets for the upcoming years increase gross HE enrolment by 15 per cent, PhD faculty by 40 per cent, the number of universities to 300 and a total enrolment to 7.1 million.

The British Council in collaboration with the HEC has so far facilitated partnerships between 160 Pakistani universities and 65 UK institutions, including 160 research links involving over 1000 researchers from both countries contributing to sustainable development goals and institutional capacity building.

In 2018, British Council and HEC organized six roundtables in London, Edinburgh, Birmingham, Bath, Belfast and Cardiff from January to August, which were very well attended by the UK higher education sector.

The delegation from Pakistan interacted with more than 100 UK Higher Education representatives from 40 institutions and UK bodies.

The positive response from both sectors demonstrates willingness to develop long term strategic relationships between these two countries.

The programme also features additional investment of £1 million for funding research and partnership grants; the development of a research excellence framework; building the capacity of Pakistan’s research and doctoral base.

The minister said Pakistan needs to start marvelous efforts for improving the quality of education and ensuring the significance of the higher education sector.

HEC Chairman Dr Tariq Banuri said Pakistan and the UK have developed an outstanding academic relationship. “It is a brilliant start,” he said, stressing the need for a bilateral academic relationship that will help Pakistan build up its universities.

Pakistani varsities needs to prepare aspirants for future challenges and work on improving the methodology of imparting knowledge, as the knowledge-base of the future will be different to what it is now.

اسلام آباد (آئی این پی) پاک سوزوکی نے پاکستان میں نیا پلانٹ لگانے کا اعلان کردیا جس کے تحت وہ 20 لاکھ گاڑیاں بنا سکے گی۔ وزارت خزانہ کے ترجمان کے مطابق منگل کو وزیرخزانہ اسد عمر سے پاک سوزوکی کے سربراہ اوسامو سوزوکی نے ملاقات کی ۔ جس میں مختلف امور پر تبادلہ خیال کیا گیا ۔ اس دوران انہوں نے اعلان کیا کہ پاک سوزوکی پاکستان میں گاڑیاں بنانے کے لئے نیا پلانٹ لگائے گی ۔ جب کہ وزارت خزانہ کے مطابق سوزوکی نئے پلانٹ سے 20 لاکھ گاڑیاں بنا سکے گی

جب کہ وزیر خزانہ اسد عمر نے کہا ہے کہ سوزوکی پاکستان میں 450 ملین ڈالر کی سرمایہ کاری کرے گی ۔ وزارت خزانہ کے ترجمان نے مزید کہا کہ وزیر خزانہ اسد عمر سے ایگزین موبل کے سربراہ نے بھی ملاقات کی ۔ وزارت خزانہ کے مطابق ایگزین موبل دنیا کی سب بڑی انرجی کمپنی ہے ۔ اس دوران گفتگو کرتے ہوئے وزیر خزانہ اسد عمر نے کہا کہ ایگزین موبل 27 سال قبل پاکستان کو چھوڑ گئی تھی ۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ منگل کا دن پاکستان میں غیر ملکی سرمایہ کے لئے ایک اچھا دن رہا ہے ۔

The government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa disclosed to build Pakistan’s first ever digital city. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa IT Board (KPITB) is alluring investors for Pakistan’s first Digital City, to be based out of Haripur, on the periphery of capital’s Margalla Hills.

The Haripur site has been selected for its close immediacy to the capital city of Islamabad and its newly built airport. The charming location will provide land with a rich infrastructure to a diverse range of businesses and technology firms on the leasing element.

In order to build the Pakistan Digital City in harmony with industry requirements, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Technology Board (KPITB) has launched a first round demand form for investors to gain feedback and requirements from potential investors.

First Two-day National Scientific Congress to be held from Dec 15
