Lahore Science Mela 2019 will take place on 5 and 6 October 2019 at the Children Libraries Complex, Lahore, to celebrate the mega science from all walks of life.

Lahore Science Mela 2019 will befall on 5-6 OctoberThis year, mela coming up with a thematically sectioned festival with active exhibitors focusing on physics, wildlife, energy and environment, industry, life sciences, medicine, geology and weather, space and astronomy.

As, 2019 being declared as the International Year of the Periodic Table, a special focus on materials, chemistry and the elements are drawn.

The ultimate aim of the event is to welcomed the people of Lahore to explore the scientific discoveries and milestones in Pakistan. Many budding youth from various schools of the city and outside going to exhibit their models at the event. 

Registrations for exhibitors, volunteers and sponsors are all open. Registrations are free. All you have to do is visit the special website dedicated for the Lahore Science Mela.

AKU & LEAD Pakistan holds seminar on ‘Heat Waves’

Aga Khan University (AKU) and LEAD Pakistan are hosting a seminar on “Preparing Communities and Hospitals for Heat Waves – Lessons Learnt from Karachi, Pakistan” on 19th April, 2019 at Ramada Hotel (Noor Hall), Islamabad.

The purpose of this seminar is to shape up findings of a research project “Heat Emergency Awareness and Treatment (HEAT)” jointly amalgamated by Aga Khan University (AKU), Aman Foundation and Johns Hopkins University (JHU), USA.

The project was funded by Research for Health in Humanitarian Crises (R2HC), UK. The intention of the project was to get ready community and hospital emergency departments to deal with heat emergencies in an improved and effective way.

The honorable speakers who spoke at the event are Dr. Nadeem Ullah Khan, Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine and Acute Care, The Aga Khan University on the topic “Hospitals preparedness for the management of heat emergencies”.

While, concerning on topic “Heat preparedness at community level” presented by Mr. Zaheer Chand, GM, Measurement, Learning and Evaluation, The Aman Foundation.

On the other hand, the moderator discussion panel going to be held where diverse experts negotiate over the concerned subject to create awareness and impart knowledge.

The event will bring to together national and provincial stakeholders to explore best practices and lessons for heat wave management in Pakistan.

Punjab Food Authority organised an awareness camp on the topic”One Day Awareness Camp “Role of Food in the Prevention of Disease” at Shaikh Zayed Hospital, Lahore.Director General PFA Cap(R) Muhammad Usman was the chief guest of the ceremony. On this occasion, affected people from various diseases were given diet charts, booklets, and guidelines free of cost.A team consisted of 30 experts nutritionists guided them on the important of diet to cure diseases.

Punjab Food Authority’s  completes screening for 1300 children in an awareness camp govt secondary school.Punjab Food Authority’s organized an awareness camp on world orals health day at Government Secondary School Wahdat Road here on March,21 on.Fort better health of children, 1300 children were screened by 18 Nutrition experts.
